This Columbus Day, thousands of Hudson Valley residents discovered Round1 Bowling & Amusement, the latest addition to the Galleria at Crystal Run’s growing selection of entertainment and dining options.
While flashing lights and the beeps, bangs, and whistles of arcade games have been drawing mall shoppers into the space across from JCPenney and next to Target since the grand opening on September 30, the day off for Columbus Day seemed to cement Round1’s notoriety in the mall.
“I definitely feel like word has gotten out there,” senior district manager Peter Yu said as families and groups of friends mingled among machines and games and grabbed for tickets. Deeper inside, the roar of bowling balls and the crash of pins emanate from eighteen neon-lit lanes where children and adults scarf down burgers and fries from Round1’s bar and grill. Adults would do well to check out the selection of big-brand and craft beers at the bar, which, like all of Round1, is open until 2am every day for billiards, karaoke, gaming, and, of course, bowling.
In total, district manager Joel Natario, estimates that Round1 attracted roughly 10,000 customers, over the holiday weekend. “We’re definitely outperforming expectations,” he said. “This is going to be a good spot for us.”
